Profile
The word profile means a contour or a side view. However, a profile also includes distinct personal attributes and character traits. In the following I provide an overview of things that have influenced my professional and my private development:

Early experiences
Very early on, I discovered the power of good and meaningful conversations. I was allowed to discuss many issues that were important for me within youth clubs or with my family. I am very thankful for this experience because these early exchanges of opinions, ideas, thoughts, sorrows, hopes and anxieties have had a great impact on my decision making.

Overseas
My year as exchange student in Atlanta (Georgia/USA) sensitized me to many different things. I discovered what it means to be a foreigner in another country. Becoming aware of cultural differences, I got to know myself even better. I experienced how open-minded, curious and warm hearted people can be but also the challenges and difficulties of living abroad firsthand.

On-the-job-training
Before I began my studies, I completed a two year practical training to become a certified gardener, which was great experience that I still manage to benefit from. Physical hard work, regardless of the weather conditions taught me down-to-earth behaviour, discipline, pragmatism, cooperation between colleagues and respect for manual work.

Sports
Sailing is a great passion which I have indulged for more than 21 years. I love the power of the wind, the wide open sea and working together as a team. For me sailing is taking off, being on the journey, discovering something new before arriving again.

Work
Throughout my practical training, during my studies and through the course of my entire career, I have learned to appreciate the advantages of working in a team. A mutual vision, respectful communication and clear team rules allow the talents of each team member to contribute towards something larger. It really is true that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.

Different experiences
The loss of dear friends and relatives, successful but also difficult situations in private and business life, amazing travel experiences, working as a volunteer; many single incidents have helped me to consider and to adjust my aims and priorities in life.

Why coaching?
In my experience, a single talk has the power to enable people to decide on something important which may improve their life situation significantly. I have been very fortunate to benefit from such talks myself and being a dialogue partner I have been able to come up with new ideas to help friends and colleagues with their decision making.

I trained as a coach because I wanted to enhance active dialogue and my intense interest in important life matters more professionally. I have been inspired by biographies and I am constantly struck by how differently people deal with their private and professional lives.

Why am I telling you this?
I do not believe in universal motivational speeches. I believe simply that every human being has their own individual profile along with individual needs and aims. Whilst accepting external limitations and dependencies, these aims and needs can be discovered and acted upon. Thus allowing us to lead productive, healthy, satisfied and confident lives.
